Obituary

Kendale Hill, affectionately known as "Mr. High" was the sixth child of eleven children born to  Jack B. Hill Sr., and Lillie B. Hart-Hill.  Kendale was born on January 10, 1957 in Crawford, Mississippi.

Kendale accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Brownridge M.B. Church. He was a 1975 Graduate of Motley High School. After high school, Kendale attended Bishop State in Mobile, AL where he played baseball. On January 28, 1978, He was united in holy matrimony to Shirley Jean Harris and to this union 2 children were born.

Kendale was employed at Baldor Electric for 16 years; he then joined the auto dealership industry as a salesman, working for Royce Sesser Chevrolet, Fitzner Buick, Carl Hogan Toyota and currently Carl Hogan Chevrolet, until his death.  He was the owner of AKK's Restaurant from 2000 to 2011.  He was a great cook and the best steak griller. He was preceded in death by his father Jack B. Hill Sr., and his brothers Jack B. Hill, Jr. and Carl L. Hill, his sister Hilda Hill Fox, his nieces Monica Wyshun Hill and Christy McCarter-Davis, a great niece Ne'a Dent, a great nephew Kwesi Hill Jr., his adopted sister Helen O'Neal(Willie) and adopted brother Gene Turner; his mother-in-law Esther Harris, his father-in-law Mason Harris, Jr. and three sisters-in-law Geraldine Sanders, Earnestine Sanders and Eunice Harris.

He leaves to cherish his memories his lovely wife of 45 years Shirley Jean Harris-Hill; his mother Lillie B. Hart Hill of Crawford, MS; (2) daughters Kimberly Hill of Columbus, MS and Claudia Jones of Nashville, TN; (1) son Kendale Hill, Jr.  He also leaves to cherish his memories (2) brothers: Jet Hill (Annette) and Gregory Hill (Marsha) all of Columbus, MS; (5) sisters: Margaret Hill McCarter (John), Anna Hill McCarter (Leon) of Crawford, MS; Hazel Adams, Brenda Hill Stewart (Dennis) and Cathy Hill Jones all of Columbus, MS; and adopted sister-in-law Deavrah Turner of Gilmer, TX and adopted brother Apostle Donald Johnson (Sarah) of Atlanta, GA. (4) brothers-in-law Bishop James E. Harris (Patricia) of Indianapolis, In., Willie James Harris, Min. William Harris (Betty) and Leander Harris (Gwen) all of Columbus, MS;(3) sisters-in-law Odell Harris, Velvet Harris, both of Columbus, MS and Minister Mary Harris of Indianapolis, IN.

Kendale also leaves to cherish his memories (3) grandchildren Jonathan, J'Braylon and Skylar; (3) Special Nieces he loved and cherished as his own daughters- Beverly Hairston, Delisa Adams and Amber Harris; and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.
