Laverne Colvin was born January 21, 1955, in Columbus, MS to the late Floyd and Emma Colvin.  She attended R. E. Hunt High School.  After high school she had a successful career in the food industry.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Northside M.B. Church, later she became a member of A Prepared Table Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Timothy Bailey.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; siblings,  Samuel Conner, Walter Harris, Billy Colvin, and Tina Colvin; grandparent, Lizzie Williams; uncle, Tommie Williams and Earl Williams; aunt, Callie Coggins
