Lester "Chalk" Henley age 61, of Iuka , MS, peacefully transitioned on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. He was surrounded by family.

Born on February 4, 1964, in Brooksville, MS, Chalk was the oldest of 4 children, he confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Iuka High School in 1983 and went on to work in construction, carpentry, hospitality and security until his health began to decline. He loved to travel, move around and meeting new people but he especially loved his friends and family, and lighted up every room that he walked into. He was a dedicated friend with a kind heart and helped out anywhere he could.

Chalk is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Pearl Hargrove.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Margaretta Henley of Tuscumbia, AL; father; Dell Hargrove of Iuka, MS; sons, Dejuan Johnson of Tuscumbia, AL, and Joshua (Stephanie) Alexander of Hobbs, NM; daughters, Shylia Henley and Shara Henley both of Huntsville, AL, sister, MeShell Henley of Columbia, SC; brothers, Joe Earl (Tyneisha) Henley of Iuka, MS, and LeRon (Patrice) Hargrove of Durham, NC, 19 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, extended family members, a circle of close childhood friends; one special uncle; Eddie Henley of Atlanta, GA; and special aunt, Lucy "Doll" Henley of Crawford, MS.
