Lizzie Edwards Stallings began her life’s journey on March 18, 1935. She was born in Macon MS to the union of Pat Edwards and Lula Bridges. On Thursday evening August 20, 2026, the Lord sent His Angel to escort his servant home.
Lizzie confessed hope in Christ at a young age and joined Union Chapel M. B. Church where she remained faithful and dedicated until her health failed. Later in life she met and married Joseph Stallings and to this union 9 children were born.
Lizzie was a hard worker, she cared for her family, worked as a babysitter in her home and further her education by taking classes to obtain certification in nursing home facilities support services. Lizzie was a loving, caring and compassionate person. She happily provided care for others when needed. She loved gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Stallings, sister, Susie McCarter, and brother, Wyde Edwards.
She leaves to cherish her memories are 9 children, Ernest (Marilyn) Stallings of Brooksville, MS, Mary Stallings (Curtis) Ervin of Ridgeland, MS, Joseph (Mary Lynn) Stallings, Jr., of Bowie, MD, Joe Earl Stallings of Crawford, MS, Levonne (Bob) Grace of Ridgeland, MS, Jeanette (Fred) Tolan of Crawford, MS, David (Gloria) Stallings of Columbus, MS, Jerry Stallings of Crawford, MS, and Wade (Reatha) Stallings of Indianapolis, IN; 2 sisters, Hattie Ashford of Fort Wayne and Ora B. Edwards of Las Vegas, NV., 1 Brother, Pat (Loretta) of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters-in-law, Bessie Gray of Florissant, MO, Nancy Stallings of Chicago, IL; Henrietta Stallings of Joliet, IL; 19 Grand-children, 16 Great- Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
