Luther Smith, affectionately known as "L.C." born in Brooksville, MS, on May 4, 1949, to Willie Mary Jackson-Smith and Albert Smith, passed away on November 24, 2025, at Starkville Manor in Starkville, MS. He accepted Christ at a young age and was a lifelong member of Harrison Grove M.B. Church.
L.C. attended Noxubee County Schools and dedicated his life to farming, beginning his career with McGee Farms and later working with Dick Cannell Farms. His commitment to agriculture was not just a job but a passion that defined much of his life.
Known for his unwavering work ethic, L.C. also enjoyed watching Westerns and cherished the moments spent with his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gregory Wells, his sister, Lillie Smith, and brothers, Robert Smith, Oscar Smith, and Lee Tolon.
L.C. leaves behind one grandchild, Antonio Stewart of Brooksville, MS; his brothers, Willie Albert (Isabella) Smith of Brooksville, MS, L.T. (Gennell) Smith of Columbus, MS, Henry Smith, and Marvin Smith, both of Brooksville, MS; his sisters, Mary Jane McClung of Hattiesburg, MS, and Linda (Joseph) Tate of Macon, MS; two special nephews, Antonio Smith and Marcus Smith; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.
