A Godly life ended on January 18, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. God summoned his child to come rest with the heavenly father.
Corporal Mack G. Murray was born May 31, 1961, in Columbus, MS to the late Nellie James, Sr. and Georgia Murray. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. at an early age serving for years. Mack then began worked for Weyerhauser Pulp and Paper and International Paper for 35 years in various roles until he retired in 2022. He was united in holy matrimony to Katherine Dora in June 1991, and to this union three children were born. They shared 40 wonderful years together.
Mack leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth and cherished memories that will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known him. He lived a life characterized by positivity and resilience. Mack's love knew no bounds and he was a pillar of strength for his family and those around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming.
Mack is preceded in death by his parents; his brother; two sisters: Jean Murray and Mildred Haynes.
Mack's memories will forever be cherished by: his loving and dedicated wife, Katherine Dora-Murray; three children: Dominic, Winter, and Dawn all of Columbus, MS; 3 brothers: Willie (Sharon), Wayne (Laura) Murray both of Columbus, MS, and Billie (Debra) Washington of Virgina; two sisters: Tonya Murray of North Carolina, and Judy Metcalf of Illinois; 5 grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Leon Haynes; his cousin, Willie George Johnson of Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Mack's numerous extended family, friends, and acquaintances will remember him for his encouraging spirit, genuine care for others, and making everyone feel loved.
His lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
