Obituary

On February 9, 2024, sister Mamie Lou Lowery got her wings. She made her transition from her earthly home to her Heavenly home. Mamie was born to Rosie B. Wells and Henry James Wells Sr. on July 24, 1951.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: A. C. Wells and Johnny Pippin.

Mamie went to Noxubee High School and later obtained her GED through Corner Stone Baptist Ministry. She continued her education at Millsap Vocational Center where she received her certified Nurse Assistant Certificate. Mamie was a very smart and a fast learner. She was an entrepreneur specializing in Adult Health care and Real Estate. Mamie enjoyed cooking and servicing others at home and in the community. She never met a stranger and loves spending time with her family. Mamie was well known for being called Aunt Tee Mamie. Her favorite saying was "Lord Jesus."

Mamie leaves to Cherish her memories of loving husband, Walter Lowey Sr., eight children: Walter Lowery Jr. (Gloria) Josephine Lowey, Samuel Lowery (LuKeshia), Maranda Sherrod (Edward) LaShawn Turner, Chernenko Lowery, Timothy Lowery, Bernett Jones (Jennifer) all of Brooksville, MS; 18 grandchildren; five sisters, Annie Smith (Lonzo), Celia Bankhead (Eddie), Rosie Hinton (Eddie Clea) all of Brooksville, MS, Brenda Smith (Tommie) of St Louis, IL, Kenishia Binion of Columbus, MS; five brothers, Henry Wells, Jr. (Kate) of Brooksville MS, Josheph Wells (Sarah) of Macon, MS, Bernard Buckhalter (Kathy) of Shuqualak, MS, Tallis Lowery of St. Louis, IL, and James Binion of Brooksville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
