Mary
Tate
June 23, 1961 – December 15, 2024
Mary L. Tate entered this world on June 23, 1961, in Macon, MS, to the parents of Warren Earl and Alberta Clark Brewer. She received Christ as her personal savior at a young age at Prairie Point Baptist Church, where she remained a lifelong member. Raised in the Prairie Point and Lucas Hill communities, Mary attended Noxubee County Schools. Following her education, she briefly worked at Johnston Tombigbee Furniture.
In 1976, Mary met the love of her life, Charlie. They exchanged vows in 1991 and enjoyed over 32 years of wonderful memories together. Mary had a deep appreciation for nature and spent countless hours tending to her garden, with lilies being her favorite flower. She cherished the moments spent in fellowship with family and friends, bringing joy and warmth to those around her.
Mary departed this life on December 15, 2024, in Baldwyn, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Anna Mae Brewer and Classie Webb.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Charlie Tate of Macon, MS, and her children, Semika (Ron) Hood, Marco (Winter) Brewer both of Columbus, MS, Montreal Tate, Tiesha (Fretoe) Wells, and Alvison Tate all of Maon, MS; and fourteen grandchildren whose lives were touched with her kindness and unwavering spirit. Mary also leaves to cherish her sisters: Annie Washington, Marie Brewer, Brenda Brewer, and Ethel Brewer all of Macon, MS; her brothers, Warren Brewer, Jr. of Brooksville, MS, L.C. Brewer of Columbus, MS, and Willie James Brewer of Chicago, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her memories will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
