Obituary

Dear Family and Friends,

I've gone on ahead of you — don't be sad too long, because I promise I'm laughing, smiling, and still taking pictures up here in Heaven.

I was born on May 16, 1967, to my wonderful mother, Mary Alice Morris, who raised me with love, faith, and the kind of strength that only a praying mother can give. Because of her, I learned early on that family is everything, and God must always come first.

On April 6, 1992, my Rayon (Worm) was born. You were my heartbeat, from the moment I first held you. I knew my life's purpose had changed forever. You gave me reasons to laugh when I wanted to cry, reasons to fight when I felt weak, and reasons to pray harder than I ever thought possible. I need you to know this: I am so proud of you. Proud of your strength, your heart, your smile, and the way you carry yourself. My prayer for you is that you keep walking with the Lord, keep loving deeply, and never forget how much I love you. That love didn't stop here — it stretches all the way into eternity. Whenever you miss me, just smile, and know I'm smiling right back.

On November 24, 1999, I married my Jimmy — my Lance, my love, and the man who never let me forget that life is better when shared. Together, we built a home filled with laughter, faith, and enough memories to last a lifetime.

One of the greatest blessings of my life came on April 11, 2010, when Bishop Freddie Edwards, Sr. licensed me to preach. From that day forward, I tried to live out the words of my favorite scripture: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15) That verse wasn't just written on the page — it was written in my heart, and I pray it is written in yours too.

I loved being with all of you — my family, my friends, my church family. Whether we were gathered around a table, worshiped together, or squeezed close for a photo, those were the moments I cherished most. If I ever made you laugh, pulled you into a picture, or prayed with you — know that was my way of saying "I love you."

I'm joining my brother, Tyshiwon L. Morris and my fur baby, Princeton in Heaven.

I left my memories behind to my husband, Jimmy "Lance" Reed; my daughter, Rayon Greason; my momma, Mary Alice Morris; my siblings, Geshia (Lorenzo) Davis and Laronzo (Kathy) Morris; two aunts, Joanne (Andrew) Richardson and Annie Ruth Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless friends.

Now my race is finished, but yours is still going. So here's what I want you to do: keep serving the Lord, keep loving each other, and don't stop laughing. Take the pictures, make the memories, and never forget that life is a gift.

Until we meet again, remember — I'll be waiting with open arms and probably a camera in my hand.

I Love You, Meco
