Mervin Mckinney
Jr.
November 2, 1942 – May 19, 2024
Mr. Mervin McKinney also known as "Penny" was born November 2, 1942 in Tunica Mississippi to the union of Marvin McKinney and Minnie Franklin.
On the 19th day of May his footprints ceased on the sands of time at approximately 1:30 P.M while living in Macon, Mississippi.
Mervin moved to Mounds City, Illinois were he continued his education at Love Joy High School. In 1960, Mervin graduated from High School and join the United States Army. After his discharge from service, he moved to Chicago, Illinois. While in Chicago, Mervin married and hold several different jobs. But the United State Postal Service would be his career job until his retirement.
Mervin loved to watch sport. His favorite was basketball and the Chicago Bulls was his team. He also loved to play card for hours at a time.
Mervin would united in holy matrimony for a second time to Alden Clark. They spent 40 years in marital bliss.
Mervin was a devoted husband and father. He leaves to celebrate his home going and cherish his memory: his wife Alden of Macon, MS and Children :Mervin of Chicago, IL, Steven of Chicago, IL, Mark of Chicago, IL and Krystina Vrana of Houston, TX and Damon Clark of Macon, MS. Sisters: Thelma Taylor and Minnie Gray both of East ST. Louis, IL. And grandchildren: Steven Jr, Jawan, Maurquita and Kiara all of Chicago, IL, Dominique Cathleen Kerby of Orange County, CA, Danielle Whitney Irving-Kerby of Seattle, WA and Luke Edward Vrana of Houston, TX. And a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
