Obituary

Michael Joseph Humphries was born September 24, 1986 to Johnnie Humphries-Coggins and the late Michael Humphries.  He departed the earthly life in exchange for eternal life on April 27, 2024.

Michael affectionately known as "Motor" accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Maranatha Faith Center and later joined Glorious Church.

Michael was a 2005 graduate of New Hope High School and attended Northeast Community College. During his work tenure, he was a supervisor at Golden Triangle Mill Service where he did not meet a stranger.  He was loved by all.  Michael had an adventurous spirit and loved to fellowship with family, friends, and his Durdy MC/SC Family.  There was no darkness that could dim his light. He embraced life and lived it to the fullest.

Michael and Dionne were united in Holy Matrimony on January 30, 2010.  To this union two children were born, McKenzie and Morgan. Later, Michael Jr. (MJ) was born to Shinessa Payne. Michael was a loving, devoted father who enjoyed spending quality time with his children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Humphries; his grandparents, Joseph Edinburgh, Sr., Johnnie Lou Knox, Otis & Mary Tubs, TC Humphries, great-grandmother, Bertha Everson; uncles, Joseph Edinburgh, Jr., Billy Humphries, Tyrone Humphries; sister, Jean Coggins; great-aunts, Late Rep. Esther M. Harrison and Willie Mae Everson; great-uncle, Turner Jackson; and cousin, Tyrone Davis.

Michael leaves to cherish his fondest memories:  his children, McKenzie, Morgan, and Michael Jr.(MJ), his mother, Johnnie Humphries Coggins (Elmer), his siblings,  Shancy L. Edinburgh, La'Shaundra M. Edinburgh, Erica Humphries Brown (Quincy), Zachary Coggins, and Joshua Coggins; nieces, Maya Edinburgh, Brianna Edinburgh, Ashley Summerville, Avah Edinburgh, Nia Brown; nephews,  Camron Edinburgh, Braylen Edinburgh, and Auston Bell; special friend, Naomi Whooper. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
