Obituary

Min. Fred "Duck" Taylor, Jr. was born June 8, 1950, to the late Fred Scales and Annie Bell Taylor. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Samuel MB Church in Brooksville, Mississippi.

On Monday, February 12, 2024, Duck as he was affectionately known, departed his life from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Annie; former spouse Min. Willie Pearl Taylor; stepson Curtis Franklin; daughter-in-law Diana Franklin and Min. Doris Franklin; son-in-law Jarvitus Jernigan; grandson Phillip Michael Williams; great-grandson Solomon Kirsten Graham; four (4) brothers Robert Taylor, G. W. Taylor, Alfred D. Taylor, and Henry Scales, and one (1) sister Bessie Mae Mallard.

Fred is survived by his wife, Sharen Fraizer-Taylor of Brooksville, MS; son Apostle Terry L. (Khristy) Franklin of Brooksville, MS; Blended children: Cherelle Jernigan of Nettleton, MS; Lisa Franklin of Brooksville, MS; Jannie Cole (Duane) Barrett of Orlando, FL; Eddie Franklin and David Franklin, Jr. III of Brooksville, MS; three (3) brothers Jimmie Taylor; Alvin Scales, both of Brooksville, MS, and Jessie (Almeta) Taylor of Jackson MS; three (3) sisters Nettie Taylor and Hattie Riley both of Brooksville, MS, and Nancy Taylor of Indianapolis, IN; 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grand, 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
