Nettie "Nig" Jones Dora, known affectionately as "Nig" by her family, was born April 21, 1933, in Brooksville, MS to the late Willie Jones and the late Doshie Jones. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Mt Avery Baptist Church.

Nettie was employed at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS for several years as a cook in the cafeteria. She also worked at The Comfort Inn, Columbus, MS in housekeeping until she retired.

Nettie was preceded in death by: her husband, Otis Dora; father, Willie Jones; mother, Doshie Jones; brothers: Willie Jones, Jr., and Joe Lee Jones; sisters: Mary Bennett and Florida Brown; daughters: Doris Dora Ingram and Linda Dora Tate.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Sarah Brown of Starkville, MS, Charlie C. Jones Everline Jones, Mrs. Rosie Scott, Robert B. Jones all of Columbus, MS; Burt Jones of Arkon, Ohio, Carrie Clay and Martha Lagrone both of Columbus, MS; children, Mary Ann Dora of Pompano Beach, FL, Joyce Jean Dora, Katherine Murray and Ruth Dora all of Columbus, MS; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grand children; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a honorary son, Timmie Robinson.
