Ossie Mae Wells-Markray was born March 6, 1945 to the late William Olen Wells and Maggie Troupe Wells in Steens, MS. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Military Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member until her passing.
She was a homemaker for many years until retirement. She enjoyed cooking, listening to gospel music, watching westerns, tending to her flowers, and spending time with family.
Ossie departed this life on June 16, 2025 in Tupelo, MS.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; her brothers: Jesse L. Troupe, Selvin Wells, David Wells, Willie C. Wells, Larry Wells, and Charles Wells; her sister, Helen Wells Latham; and one grandson.
Ossie's memories will forever be cherished by: her children: Leonard Wells, Anthony Wells, Kelly Markray, Jimmy (Mercedes) Markray all of Columbus, MS, Steven Markray, Ricky Markray both of Alexandria, LA, and Whitney Markray; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Catherine Wells Neely of Chattanooga, TN, Betty Ann Gregory of Columbus, MS, and Linda (Clyde) Poole of Starkville, MS; one brother, Leroy Wells of Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
