Obituary

Pat Williams, Jr. August 4, 1972 - February 23, 2024 With heavy hearts, those who knew Pat Williams, Jr. mourn his sudden departure from this world. On Friday, February 23, 2024, at the age of 51, Pat left behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering faith that touched the lives of many.

Pat's journey began on August 4, 1972, welcomed into the world by parents Pat Sr. and the late Lenoria Tellis Williams, who cherished him deeply. From his earliest days, it was evident that Pat possessed a rare blend of warmth and compassion, traits that would define his interactions with others throughout his life.

Known for his friendly demeanor and willingness to assist those in need, Pat was a beacon of light. Whether it was a neighbor facing hardship or a friend seeking guidance, Pat's door was always open, and his heart always receptive to the struggles of others. Pat's faith was central to his life, and he found great joy in serving his church community. As a dedicated member of Vibrant Church, Pat served on the usher team, extending a warm welcome to all who entered the doors of the sanctuary. His commitment to his faith was evident in every aspect of his life, serving as a source of strength and guidance to those around him.

On September 2, 1995, Pat pledged his love and commitment to his soulmate, Tawan Blunt Williams, in a ceremony filled with joy and anticipation for the years ahead. For nearly three decades, Pat served as not only a loving husband but also a steadfast provider and protector of his family, ensuring their well-being with unwavering dedication. Together, Pat and Tawan raised three sons: Joshua (1998), Jacob (2000) and Jared (2005).

As a father, Pat's influence extended far beyond the walls of his home. His children were the beneficiaries of his wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support as they navigated life's challenges. Through his example, Pat instilled in them values of hard work, integrity, resilience, and compassion that will endure for generations to come. Pat is preceded in death by his mother, Lenoria Tellis Williams. He is survived by his father, Pat [Carol ] Williams, Sr., his two sisters, Cynthia Williams, Twanna Dumas and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pat Williams was employed with International Paper Columbus Mill since 1997. He spent the entirety of his time working within the Columbus Mill Storeroom. After years of displaying a strong work ethic and dedication, Pat was promoted in January, 2023 to the position of Columbus Mills Stores Supervisor. In this role, Pat was responsible for leading the Stores team, in conjunction with the Mill's safety, operational, maintenance and reliability objectives.

Pat's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering commitment to his faith and family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

As we gather to celebrate his life and honor his enduring legacy, may we find solace in the knowledge that Pat's spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days ahead. Rest in peace, dear Pat. Though you may be gone from this earth, your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know you.

"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." - Matthew 25:21
