Obituary

Reverend Perry Lee Dismuke entered this earthly realm on Tuesday, May 6, 1958, in Columbus, Lowndes County, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Leonard Dismuke, Sr. and the late Geneva Taylor Dismuke.

At an early age, Reverend Dismuke accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and united with Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. James A. Boyd, where he began to develop a strong spiritual foundation that would guide his life and ministry.

Reverend Dismuke received his secular education in the Columbus Municipal School District, attending Barrow Elementary School, Mitchell Elementary School, Hunt High School, Joe Cook Elementary School, Caldwell High School, and graduating from Motley High School in 1978. He continued his education at East Mississippi Technical College, where he earned two certificates in Welding and Advanced Welding. After answering the call to preach, Reverend Dismuke furthered his spiritual education by attending the Ministerial Institute and College in West Point, Mississippi.

Reverend Dismuke was employed with Sesser Chevrolet, the City of Columbus, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) in Columbus, Mississippi. After relocating with his family to Albany, Georgia, he was employed at Wallace Chevrolet and Albany Honda. His final place of employment before becoming ill was Woodgrain Millworks in Leesburg, GA.

On May 30, 1981, Reverend Perry Dismuke was united in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Theresa Ann Moore. They shared forty-four years of marriage and fifty years together. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Minister Demorris LeAndrea' Dismuke and Frances Samaria Dismuke. They were also blessed with two adored grandchildren, Andrew LeAndrea' Thomas and Carlee Leighanne Thomas, who affectionately called them Pop-Pop and Granny.

After moving to Albany, Georgia, Reverend Dismuke continued his faithful service to the Lord through several ministries, including Mount Pilgrim Missionary Church under the leadership of Dr. James Rodgers; Berachah Fellowship Church under the leadership of Apostle Ronald Smith; and Greater Faith and Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Elder Vincent Charles, Senior Pastor, and Elder Leslie Charles, Co-Pastor.

Reverend Dismuke was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Geneva Dismuke; his brothers, Eddie James Dismuke, Robert Dismuke, Richard Dismuke, Tommie Dismuke, Charlie Dismuke, and Willie Earl Dismuke; his sisters, Flora Whitfield and Sarah Williams; and his son, Minister Demorris Dismuke.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Theresa Ann Moore Dismuke; his caring and devoted daughter, Frances Samaria Dismuke; his beloved grandchildren, Andrew LeAndrea' Thomas and Carlee Leighanne Thomas; his sister, Hattie Louise Richey (Joe); his brothers, Leonard Dismuke, Jr. (Dean), Jerry Dismuke (Marion), and Willie Houston Dismuke; his sisters-in-law, Eleanor Moore Jones, Hattie Will Dismuke, and Kim Dismuke; along with a host of other loving relatives, dear friends, and a faithful church family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his devoted caregivers, daughter Frances Dismuke, Jennie Covin-Tift, Patricia Mathis, and the Greater Faith & Deliverance Ministries Usher Ministry; and to special friends Erica Horton and Dortheria Bolden.
