Rashada Ellen Murray entered this world on November 18, 1987, in Columbus, MS to Belinda Gandy Murray and Andrew W. Murray.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was a faithful member of New Zion Pilgrim M.B. Church since 5th grade. Rashada was a native of New Hope where she graduated from New Hope High School in 2006, and later graduated from Mississippi State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. In 2017, she obtained a Master of Science Degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health counseling.
Rashada began her counseling career with Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. She later joined the Community Counseling Services, and in 2023, she became a Licensed Professional Counselor where she was currently operating in that profession as a staff counselor for Mississippi State University's Student Counseling Services. Rashada was in the process of opening a private practice, Eclectic Insight Counseling Services, to impact the lives of others. Specifically, family systems therapy, inner child work, empowerment/ self-esteem, mindfulness, and grounding techniques.
Rashada enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with family and friends.
Rashada departed this life on May 16, 2024 in Columbus, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother, Belinda Murray; grandparents, Willie J. Murray Sr., Georgia M. Murray, Tom Gandy, and Lou Ellen Gandy; uncle, Mack G. Murray; and aunts, Ida J. Murray and Mildred Hayes.
Rashada's memories will forever be cherished by: her father, Andrew (Lori) Murray; her sister, Gabrielle Murray; uncles, Willie J. (Sharon) Murray Jr., Willie (Clara) Johnson, and Leon Hayes; her aunts, Bertha A. Murray, Julia A. (Brian) Metcalf, Phyllis Gandy, Beverly Spann and Valeria Gandy; step-sister, Allison, Cooper; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
God is a sovereign God. He makes no mistakes. Find peace today that He is in complete control of your life.
