Obituary

Rosetta McCoy Jones was born October 4, 1934 in Pickens County, Alabama to Dilcy Ann Ivy and Charles McCoy.

She departed this life on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.

Rosetta confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Christian Hill M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Shaw. She remained a faithful servant and loyal member until her health declined. She served on the Missionary Society for many years. She lived a joyful life being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She loved her family and was always concerned about their happiness and well-being. She loved cooking for her family. Everyone loved her home cooked meals and treated everyone like family. She retired from Gavin Headstart after 19 years of teaching and loving on the kids.

Rosetta was united in holy matrimony to Richmond Jones for sixty four years. To this union four children were born.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Jones; one son, Ezelle Jones; her mother, Dilcy Ann Ivy; and father, Charlie McCoy.

She leaves to cherish her love, life and legacy, two daughters, Christean (Rufus) Buckhalter and Ardean (Larrie) Moore all of Macon, MS; son, Richard (Karen) Jones of Fort Ann, NY; she also leaves two adopted daughters, Linda Faye Taylor and Janet Taylor both of Macon MS; and also raised Tonia Crotchet, Alvin, Reco and Michael Silvers all of Macon, MS; a special niece that she cared for as her own, Mary Ruth Jones; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grand children; thirteen great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
