She was the seventh of ten siblings (James Arthur, Herbert, Delois, Beverly) whom preceded her in death. Ruby was called home on Sunday, April 12, 2015. At a very young age, Ruby accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a faithful member of Macedonia C.M.E. Church, serving as Sunday School teacher and Church Secretary.Ruby received her education from Pickens County High School, Reform, AL. Later, she continued her higher education at Bevill State Community College and received her degree in Child Development and Computer Science.Ruby retired from the PCCAC Headstart Program after 25 years of tireless and passionate work as a teacher and Center Manager. What started out as a job became a career with a passion to make a difference in the lives of so many children.Being a people person, Ruby never met a stranger. She had an innate ability to befriend and embrace almost anyone. Helping others was second nature to her. She gave of herself endlessly. Now that her end has come she can go home to the King and receive her crown. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Kevin LaMont Manning, Ethelsville, AL; two step-daughters, NeKita Holt-Hill, Hillside, NJ and Shanti Holt, Tuscaloosa, AL; two grandsons, Kameree Jones, Tuscaloosa, AL and James Hill, Hillside, NJ; brother, Frank Hudgins Sr. (Marjorie), Douglasville, GA; sisters, Lorene Wrench, Memphis, TN, Arnell Wilson (Lawrence), Columbus, MS, Carolyn Martin (GorDon) Fort Wayne, IN and Linda Hudgins, Los Angeles, CA; 14 nieces and nephews; two aunts, Mildred Ruth Hinton (Bennie), Ethelsville, AL and Alice Hall, Fort Wayne, IN; and a host of family, friends and loved ones.
