On Thursday, October 18, 1945, in Lowndes County, Mississippi, a beautiful angel was born to Andrew James and Susie Mae Walker. Her name was Sadie Will Walker. She was the first born of six children. Sadie was affectionately called "PLUNK" by her family and friends. She accepted Christ at an early age at Springfield M.B. Church.

Plunk's life journey began with a high school education, sharecropping, improvement through adversity in private housekeeping, and daycare services in the community. She will always be known as the energetic dancing queen with a compassionate heart of gold that always had her doors open for food and shelter, and sometimes, a quick press and curl for those in need.

Ms. Sadie bore seven children, and she became a bonus mom to many. She was the family babysitter; she loved kids!

It was Tuesday evening on June 3, 2025, when the Lord called his angel home. At 79 years old, Sadie lived to see five generations before entering eternal rest in Columbus, MS, with her family by her side. Our love and memories of her will forever remain.

Sadie was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth and Sam Walker; parents, Andrew and Susie Walker; siblings, Annie Kate Walker, Mary Will (Sammie) Little, Jessie Lee Walker; and brother-in-law, Allen Elizenberry.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughters, Glenda Ann Whitfield, Latarsha (Laisha) Walker; sons, Vincent (Tosha) Walker, Bobby James Walker, Amos Roy Walker; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Josie Elizenberry, Robert Walker, Sharon (Carl) Gardner; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
