Sammy "Big Bo" Harris of Columbus, MS passed away on August 10, 2025. He was born on October 6, 1980 to his parents, Bobbie Harris and Booker T. James. He graduated from Columbus High School in May of 2000, and built a life marked by kindness, hard work, and compassion.

Sammy will be remembered by his genuine nature, gental spirit, and the way he could get along with anyone he met. His unforgettable laugh and contagious smile brightened any room. He was always willing to do anything for anyone. He loved music, barbecuing, and loved riding and decorating his bike. Sammy cherished the simple moments spent with those he loved and loved him.

He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity that will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and all who knew him.

Sammy's memories will forever be cherished by his parents Bobbie Harris and Booker T. James of Columbus, MS; his sons, Sammy Harris, Jr. and Travion Lucious of Columbus, MS; his daughter, Takaia Harris of Mendenhall, MS; his granddaughter, Julianna Shelly of Columbus,  MS; his brothers, Mario "Princess" Harris of Gary, IN, Marcus (Shawanda) Harris of Starkville, MS, Willie (Brittany) Harris, Tony Bailey, Markett Elliot all of Columbus, MS; his sister, Kathleen James of Columbus, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
