Obituary

On March 8, 1945, in Lowndes County, Mississippi, God blessed Robert (Bob) and Mamie Dell Gordon with their first and only bundle of joy and named her Sandra Lee Gordon but if you asked her what's her name, she would say, "my first name is "Sandra Lee Jordan Gordon." She was known to family and friends as "Cat" or "Kitty Kitty." Because her parents passed at an early age she was reared by her aunt, "Auntee Louise" as she would say.
Sandra attended Concord Elementary School with James and Sam and when they left, she left. In the past few years she attended the Brighter Day Adult Care Center.
Those who knew "Cat" will remember her for her infectious laughter, bright smile, and tender presence. Very seldom you would see her without a purse on her arm and loved her some "Pepsi Cola in the throw away bottle" and pork skins.
On April 13, 2023 God summoned his angel to come home to join her loved ones: parents, Bob and Mamie; grandparents, Solomon and Leola Fulgham; aunt, Louise Henderson and uncle, Clyde Fulgham.
Sandra greatest joy was the love of her family. According to the family tree they are first cousins but raised as brothers and sister; James (Martha) Gregory of St. Louis, MO, Samuel (Janice) Johnson, Thaddis Henderson, and her devoted caregiver Emma Johnson all of Columbus, MS and Freddie (Violet) Henderson of Montgomery, AL; other first cousins, Vera Cooper, Gladys Morris, Minnie Roberson, Sandy Jones, Clyde Fulgham Jr., John David Fulgham, Bryan Fulgham, and Kenny Fulgham.
Although "Cat" did not have any children of her own, she was the family "Go To Babysitter" to nieces, nephews, cousins and even some of the great-nieces and nephews; Sharon, Charlie, René, Delvin, Daniel, Gabrielle, James, John, Michael, Demon, Chris, Zaria, Deion, Jay-Jay, KK, MeMe, Mya, Ki, Emmaly and her "little girl" Madison. Several other cousins and relatives will cherish her loving memories.
While we will mourn Sandra's passing, we will always hold dear the memories of the joy and warmth she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, "Cat."
