Sandra R. Simmons Bush entered this world on May 13, 1960, in Bronx, NY to the parents of William Edward and Mary Cannon Simmons. She was raised in the Springfield Gardens of Queens, NY. She completed her high school education and received her diploma from Springfield Gardens High School. Sandra was employed for several years as a Home Health Aid in Private Homes.

Sandra relocated to Columbus, MS with her family in 1988. She was employed in Columbus with Mississippi University for Women in housekeeping. Sandra enjoyed telephone conversations with family and friends, along with shopping and attending church. She was a member of New Zion Steens M.B. Church.

Sandra departed this life on February 24, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital GT in Columbus, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Edward and Mary Simmons; and her grandparents: Viola and Robert Cannon.

Sandra leaves to cherish her memories her siblings: Sylvia Henry of Suffolk County, NY, Bianca Thompson of Columbus, MS and Stanley Thompson of Tupelo, MS; her husband, Freddie Bush; her brother-in-law, Clifton Henry; nieces: Kariyma Thompson and Alexia Thompson; nephews: William Simmons, Kareem Thompson, Alex Thompson, and Cedric Henry her great-nephew, Ramses Thompson; and her great-niece, Gabriela Thompson; other relatives and friends.
