Sarah Alice
Gardner
July 18, 1938 – November 26, 2025
Sarah Alice Gardner was born July 18, 1938 to the late Willie Trick Latham and Lovey Latham. She departed her life on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Hospice of West Alabama.
Sarah Alice Gardner is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Ross Gardner; two sisters: Etoi Billups and Hattie Smith; five brothers: Jimmy Lee Latham, Jessie Mack Latham, Thomas Earl Latham, Willie Latham, and James Latham; 2 sons: Petty Freeman Jones and Raymond David Jones; 3 daughters: Opel Marie Jones, Nancy Jane Jones, and Alice Ruth Jones.
Sarah Alice was the matriarch of our family; a guiding presence whose love held us all together. She enjoyed cooking and took great pride in preparing meals that brought everyone around the table. She loved to dance and sing, and her joyful spirit could brighten even the quietest days. Her strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to inspire us for generations. She loved to go to town (Reform) as she would call it five or six times a day. She did everything to prepare us for this thing called life, but nothing she taught us prepared us for her expiration date.
Sarah Leaves to cherish her memories: 1 sister, Viella Harris; 1 Brother, Johnny Latham; 4 sons: Willie Jones (Stephanie) of Columbus, Mississippi, Henry Jones, Billy Gardner, and Jose Gardner all of Reform, Alabama; 3 Daughters: Sarah Wells of Reform, Alabama, Joyce Gardner of Gordo, Alabama, and Lizzie Gardner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; 1 special Daughter she raised, Annie W Guyton; Special Grandkids that she helped raise: Alaisha, Earlie, Alice, Kim, Loretta, Lisa, Eric, Jamie, Lakeshia, Jonathan, TJ, Melissa, Jonathan, Ashley, Sierra, Terrell, Dante, Natalie, Latecia, Alexis, Ariyanna, Tyrell, Tim, Kendra, Demarian, Mary, Teddy, Ginger, Aretha, Henry, Korki, Alvin and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
