Obituary

THE ARRIVAL OF LIFE
Sarah Jane Greenleaf arrived into this world on October 13, 1946, to the union of the late Edward Greenleaf and the late Sarah Pearl Moore Greenleaf in Noxubee County.  Psalm 144:12b " and our daughter will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace."

THE DURATION OF LIFE
During her lifetime Sarah Jane acknowledged and accepted God as her Lord and Savior.  She was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher before her health began to fail.  John 11:25 "Jesus said to her, " I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."

Sarah Jane, ever during love for her family, was evident as she loved them with all her heart.  She was a good wife to her husband, and a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children.  She made sure everyone was taken care of according to their needs.  She was the best babysitter that the family could have had.  John 6:35 "Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."

During her lifetime she suffered the loss of many loved ones; her husband: Johnny Jones, her parents, Edward and Sarah Pearl Greenleaf Austin, her brothers: Edward Greenleaf, Austin Greenleaf, George O'Bean, Robin Greenlee and Carl Austin, her sisters: Mary Greenleaf and Areatha Pickle; and her granddaughter, Laquanda "KeKe" Newman. James 4:14 "How do you know what life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog, here a little while, then it's gone."

THE DEPARTURE OF LIFE
Sarah Jane departed life here on earth into her eternal life, June 4, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.  The life of Sarah Jane will be remembered and cherished by a lifetime of memories through her children: William Newman Austin, Aretha (John)) Harris, Lucille Newman, Sarah Ann Greenlee, Freddie Greenleaf, Johnny Greenleaf, Mario Greenleaf, and Maude Jones all of Columbus, Mississippi; her brothers, James Greenleaf and Ananias Austin of Columbus, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
