Stella Mae Jones was born April 20, 1938 in Bigbee Valley, MS to the late Van and Mary Heaven Wells.

She acknowledged Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age joining Christian Hill M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Josephus Davis. She was an active member of the Usher Board and the Missionary Society. Remaining a faithful Christian Hill M.B. Church member, she continued to service  her Savior Jesus Christ and her church under the leadership of Reverend Bobby Bowen.

In 1954, Stella joined holy matrimony with William Mitchell Jones (Fuzzy). From this union of fifty-six years, nine children were given life.

The Calling
Stella made her transition into Heaven on Friday, December 2, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, one sister, Ida Mae Darling, three brothers, JB Wells, UW Wells, and RL Wells, one grandson, Ray Washington Jr., and one grand- daughter, Melissa Hughes.

The Beloved Memories:
To cherish her memories: Stella leaves nine children, Lucille Washington of Florence, South Carolina; Willie (Rosetta) Jones, Eddie (Margie) Jones, and DeLois (Dennis) Buckhalter all of Columbus, MS; Mitchell Jones of Greenwood, MS; Angela Stewart, Lula Jones, and Mary (John) White all of Brooksville, MS; and Danny (Elyondia) Jones of Macon, MS; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ammie Boykin and Lue (Johnny) Young both of Brooksville, MS; one brother, James Earl Wells of Naranja, Florida; a special niece, Lisa Buckhalter; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Stella was always a burst of energy and enjoyed living life to fullest. One of the most important things to her was family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grand-children and traveling with her sisters. She was one to never met a strange and always left an impact on others.
