Tavaris Dewayne Frazier, affectionately known as “TJ,” was born on October 19, 2000, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Tavaris Dewayne Sam and Valerie Truss. He was adopted by Shatyra and Tommie Frazier, Jr. He was baptized at an early age. As a child, he moved to Columbus, Mississippi, where he attended Stokes Beard Elementary School and played soccer through the local recreation program. He graduated from Columbus High School in 2020 and later attended Northeast Mississippi Community College.

Tavaris worked at several restaurants, including Popeyes, Hardee’s, Up & Smoke BBQ, and, most recently, Buffalo Wild Wings. He especially enjoyed cooking and grilling at his father’s business, Up & Smoke BBQ.

A talented young man with a natural gift for drawing and music, Tavaris created music under the artist name “Zo Genesis.” He also enjoyed gaming. He was deeply loved by his family and close friends, and his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone whose life he touched.

Tavaris was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommie Frazier, Sr., and his grandmother, Annie Truss.

He leaves to cherish his memory his adoptive parents, Shatyra and Tommie Frazier, Jr.; his siblings, Latrayn Frazier, Jaborris Frazier, Kaitlin Frazier, Leslie Flemmings, Aitana Dancy, Latoya Ashford, and Zachary Truss; his fiancée, Jessica Brewer, the love of his life; his godson, Chosen Lee Andrew Smith; his grandparents, Willie Mae Frazier, Karen Gillespie, and Roosevelt Truss; and a host of other relatives and friends.”
