Thechare
Mcchriston
July 18, 1979 – September 6, 2025
Thechare McChriston, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was born on July 18, 1979, in Winona, Mississippi, to Ms. Theressie Jones and the late Rev. Robert McChriston.
From an early age Thechare embraced her creativity, curiosity, and spontaneity. As an adult she referred to herself as daring and mischievous. She was always up for an adventure. Don't tell her what she could not do because she would prove you wrong.
Her upbringing was enriched by her family's military travels, which instilled in her a love for exploration and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures. Her favorite place was the Philippines.
A graduate of Columbus High School Class of 97, Thechare later furthered her education at East Mississippi Community College. Her passion for storytelling and creativity led her to develop "In the Dash Media Production," where she shared her unique perspective with the world through photography, videography, and documentary. Thechare used her platforms to encourage, uplift, inspire, advocate, and connect with others all across the world. She had a deep passion to see others live their dash unapologetically.
Thechare McChriston joined Maranatha Faith Center under the leadership of the late Pastor Steve Jamison. She grew in her knowledge and love for the Word of God and worship.
Above all, Thechare cherished her role as a mother to her only son, Andy Stewart III (Trey). Their bond was a testament to her unwavering love and dedication, and she took great pride in nurturing his dreams and aspirations. Thechare's family was her heart who brought her immense joy.
Thechare is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Robert McChriston, her beloved grand- parents, Willie B. & Minnie Jones, and John & Frankie Joliff.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Andy Stewart III of Memphis, TN; her mother, Theressie Jones of Kilmichael, MS; her brother, Thaddieus Jones of Grand Rapids, MI; her aunts and uncles, Donnie Osborne of Chicago, IL, Betty Stewart of Grand Rapids, MI, Loubertha Jones of Waterford, MI, Dervie Robinson of Hinesville, GA, Sam Joliff of Jackson, MS, James (Nina) Joliff of Houston, TX, Lorita Joliff of Paris, TX; her special family, Andy, Ania, & Doris Stewart, Regina & Curley Williams all of Columbus, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Thechare McChriston will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her kind heart, and her unwavering faith, and her catchphrases, "Redefined by Cha", "Truth Be Told by Cha", "Coach Comeback", and "In The Dash - Live Your Dash". Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her, and her legacy will live on in the stories she shared and the lives she touched. As we celebrate her life, let us carry forward her love and passion for life, honoring her memory in all that we do.
