Theodis Stevenson was born in Crawford, MS on August 13, 1938, to Dorothy Colbert and Roger Goodwin. Theodis, known as "Chip" and "Sonny" was raised in the Crawford community and attended schools at B.L. Moor. He later resided in the Sandfield community. He attended El Bethel M.B. Church for several years.

Theodis was employed for many years as a factory worker and carpenter with Humboldt and West Brothers Construction. He lived a simple life and gave his all in any deeds. "Chip" enjoyed watching all sports on television.

Theodis departed this life on August 13, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital GT. He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-son, Carlos Brewer; and two brothers, Clyde Colbert and Fred Goodwin.

Theodis leaves to cherish his memories his children: Willie Stevenson of Crawford, MS, Latanya Brewer of Columbus, MS, Leisha Douglas of Columbus, MS, Larry Douglas of Fairfax, VA, Eric Douglas of Columbus, MS, and Anthony Brewer of Columbus, MS; his brothers, Ben Colbert of Atlanta, GA, Roy Goodwin of Columbus, MS and Earnest Goodwin of Brooksville, MS; nineteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, and many more family and friends.
