Timothy Dewayne Gillespie was born on October 3, 1974, as the fifth of nine children, to Pastor James A. and First Lady Rhonda L. Gillespie. He was raised in a loving and spiritual home where faith in Jesus Christ was deeply valued.
Education and Artistic Talent
Timothy was a proud graduate of Noxubee High School. His exceptional artistic talent earned him a scholarship to the University of Minnesota, where he pursued his passion for art. Known for his creativity and dedication, Timothy shared his gift by creating artwork for daycares and his community, leaving a lasting impression through his skill and generosity.
Career
After completing high school, Timothy applied his skills to various roles in the construction industry. He worked for J&J Construction Company and other firms over the years, where his artistry and craftsmanship were evident in all that he did. Timothy was widely recognized for his creativity, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
Spiritual Life
Having grown up in a home rooted in faith, Timothy developed a deep spiritual foundation. Though life took him on different paths, he continued to attend church on occasion, always holding onto the values instilled in him during his upbringing.
Cherished Family and Legac y
Timothy departed this life on January 21, 2025, in West Point, Mississippi.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His devoted parents, Pastor James A. and First Lady Rhonda L. Gillespie; two beloved children, TymBreal McCoy and Jemerrious Gillespie, both of Columbus, MS. Eight loving siblings: Cozette Gillespie of Chicago, IL; Bryant (Sonja) Gillespie and Ronnie (Caron) Gillespie of Macon, MS; Kimberly Gillespie of Southaven, MS; James (Twisha) Gillespie Jr. of Memphis, TN; Shurhonda Gillespie of Jackson, MS; Demarco Gillespie of Macon, MS; Victoria (Markee) Sanders of Olive Branch, MS.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Timothy will be remembered for his remarkable artistic abilities, his strong work ethic, and the love he shared with his family and community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
