On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Lord called one of his servants home, Theris Timothy Sherrod.

Theris was born on June 28, 1961 in Plum Grove, MS to Allie V. Sherrod-Wilkins.

He confessed hope in Christ and joined Mt. Pleasant until he departed this world. He was a longtime employee of Columbus Fence Company in Columbus, MS. Years later, he became self-employed as a carpenter including building fences and other carpentry jobs.

Theris is preceded in death by his mother, Allie V. Sherrod-Wilkins; his stepfather, Ulysses Wilkins; and two brothers, Henry and Joseph Sherrod.

Theris leaves to cherish his memory to his four nieces, Katherine (Henry) Sherrod-Cockrell, Jennifer (Jason) Sherrod-McDavid both of Columbus, MS, Cierra Rose of Artesia, MS and Mildred Sherrod of Memphis, TN; a sister-in-law, Fannie Sherrod of Columbus, MS; several close cousins, Ordella Rosetta and Ruth Bland all of Muskegon, MI, Connie Sherrod and Roy Sherrod both of Plum Grove, MS, Tommy Sherrod, Dennis Sherrod, Jerry Hunter, Robert Hunter, Darlene Stinson and Gayle Deloach all of Columbus, MS. Theris also had a cousin like a mother figure to him, Mattie B. Sherrod. He had two very close friends, Pastor Lee A. Sanders of Plum Grove, MS and Ivory Green of Columbus, MS. He had a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends.
