Mrs. Twanda Smith-Wells was born on April 16, 1959, to the late Van Barry and Carrie Collins-Barry. She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Zion Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. James A. Boyd. She was a faithful member until her health failed. She loved to watch television and listen to music.

She was united in holy matrimony to Johnny A. Wells on March 24, 2007. She loved her one and only son, her family, and her great-great niece, Amora Summerville, whom she called her "Granddaughter." She worked for more than twenty years in retail at McRae, now Belk. She will be missed by all.

Twanda Smith-Wells was called to rest from labor on Monday, February 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters  Rosa Glenn and Gladys Barry, and her brothers Van Collins and Willie Barry.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Johnny Wells, son Ervin V Smith II, and sisters Bessie W. Barry and Marilyn Morgan. Special nieces/caregivers Terrie L Barry  and India Barry, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
