January 7, 1969 – September 17, 2024
Tyrome Ashford, the beloved son of Ben and Dorethia Deloach Ashford entered this world on January 7, 1969, in Macon, MS. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove M.B. Church, Macon, MS. He attended the Noxubee County Schools where he was a 1987 graduate. After high school, Tyrome enlisted in the United States Army serving honorably for 4 years until discharge. He returned to his home in Mississippi for several months and later relocated to New York and Elizabeth, New Jersey where he was employed with United Airlines. In 1998, Mississippi became Tyrome permanent residency. A few months after returning, he met his love, Carolyn, and they exchanged vows on April 18, 2013.
Tyrome was later employed with Golden Triangle Mill Service. His dedication and hard work earned him great respect amongst his co-workers as he served as a Leadman. When not at the mill, you could find him at his home. He was a dedicated and faithful fan of the Tennessee Titans. He loved his team whether it was a win, a loss, or a draw. He also enjoyed barbecuing at home with good music in the background as well as cooking and watching television. Tyrome was a man full of life and was loved by all because of his love and laughter with all whom crossed his path.
Tyrome departed this life on September 17, 2024, in Columbus, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Melvis Thompson; his brother, Curtis Ashford; and his sister-in-law, Sonya Rice.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Carolyn Ashford of Columbus, MS; his children: Marqies Tyrome Alexander, Shanequa Sharde Mickens, and Shaquan Tyrome Mickens all of Newark, New Jersey; Duane Tyrell Ashford of Brooklyn ,New York; Ardrianna Shardae Rice and Ervianna Webber both of Columbus, MS; his grandchildren: Amari Alexander, Jaheim Kyshon Freeman, Jahsiel King Freeman, and Damarion Alijah Jones; his siblings: Issac Earl Ashford, Loretta (Larry) Tate, and Donnie (Bernice) Ashford all of Columbus, MS, Pastor Duane (Shaundria) Ashford and Tracy (Tammy) Lewis both of Macon, MS; a special nephew whom he considered a brother, Travoris Kentrell Ashford; his brother-in-law, Will Thompson of Columbus, MS; his mother and father-in-law: Pastor W.C. and Barbara Talley; his sisters-in-law: Lori Bailey, Tracy (James) Betts, Janet (Gregory) Wells, Tonya Rice, and Frank Rice. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, co-workers, other relatives and friends.
