Vincent McDowell was born on September 14, 1962, in Columbus, MS to Sam McDowell and Beulah Johnson McDowell. He accepted Christ at an early age at Tenth Street Fairlawn M.B. Church. Vincent attended the Columbus City Schools where he later graduated from Caldwell High School in 1982. Vincent was employed as machine operator with Southwire in Starkville, MS for over 28 years and was adored by his coworkers.

Vincent was an outgoing person who enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed his loud music, grilling, and traveling. His zest for life was relentless. He was fearless and a had a drive to achieve any desire he set out to; including putting cars together. Vincent was a clean cut men that enjoyed his dress clothing. He was an outspoken man that was loved by his family and friends, and he returned his love to all whose paths he crossed. Vincent had a great compassion for the Dallas Cowboys, often traveling to games.

Vincent departed this life on January 13, 2025, in Eupora, MS. He preceded in death by his parents; son, Cody Sanders; his sister, Miriam Salaam Marsh ("Marva Denise"); two brothers- in-law, Larry Smith and Richard Marsh.

Vincent leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Shamedrick White of Macon, MS and Victoria Kimbrow of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren, Cody Sanders, Jr., Talisha Sanders, McKyle Harper, Kyran Brewer, Zion Kimbrow, Zaden Kinbrow, Laketiah Reliford, and Malasia Jones; siblings, Vernon Humphries, Sherry L. Humphries-Smith, Penesha Kay McDowell, and Sam (Kim) McDowell, Jr. III of Columbus, MS; 1 aunt Sherrie Johnson-Justin of Great Neck, NY and 1 uncle Woodrow Harris of Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, other relatives and friends
