Virginia Nell Gunter Hackman was born on April 13, 1941 to Freeman Gunter and Gerline Richmond. She departed this life on July 20, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.

She married Billy Joe Hackman in June of 1965, and four children were born to this union. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Brownlee United Methodist Church.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Lesia Ann Smith, Pauline Miller and Pearline Henry.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memories: seven daughters, Wanda Faye (Dean)  Baker, Sandra Kaye Gunter, Eddie Jean Gunter, Carolyn Jean Hackman. Sheryl Denise (Steve) Shirley, Lisa Ann (Kenneth) Casey all of Columbus, MS and Cathy Jo Hackman of Caledonia, MS; one son, Daniel Lee Gunter of Caledonia, MS; her siblings, Edith (James) Manuel of Columbus, MS, George (Lorraine) Richardson of Northport, AL, Therman (Ketha) Richmond of Smith, AL, Mary Miller of Memphis, TN, Dennis (Deborah) Johnson of New Albany, MS and Janice Richmond of Columbus, MS; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
