Bro. Washington Saffore was born June 3, 1937 to Dave and Adell Saffore in Columbus MS. He was the third oldest of twelve children.

On June 7, 1959, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Sister Bessie Mae Henry. This union was blessed and they raised seven children; Johnnie, Easter, Wilbert, David, Charles, Quinn, and Lonnie.

He worked and retired from General Tire & Rubber Company. He confessed and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Smith Chapel M.B. Church and in the army of the Lord at the time of his passing. Bro. Washington went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2024. He transitioned peacefully at his home he shared with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Adell Saffore; his wife, Bessie Mae Saffore; brothers, Dave Saffore, Willie Saffore, Reece Saffore, Emmitt Saffore, and Sylvester Saffore; sisters Alberta Whitlock, Jessie Smith, Flora Humphries, Clara Rice, Mary A. Saffore, Mary D. Saffore; children, Easter Bonner and Charles Saffore; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories sons: Wilbert (Diane) Thomas of Columbus, MS, David (Daniela`) Saffore of Jacksonville, FL, Quinn Saffore, and Edward Bonner both of Columbus, MS, and Johnny (Tonnette) Saffore of Richmond, VA; daughters, Shereen Mitchell of Columbus, MS, sister, Adline Hargrove (Tom D.); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.; daddy's very special friend, Mrs. Ruthie Mae Armistad.
