Willette Jones Hairston, born on March 27, 1940, in Columbus, MS, to the late Sam Earl Hunter and Susie Jones, departed this life leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Willette was a true daughter of Columbus, growing up in the beloved "Sanderson Carson" area. She dedicated several years of her professional life as a custodian at Joe Cook, where she was known for her diligence and quiet strength.

A woman of deep faith, Willette confessed Christ and became a devoted member of St. John M.B. Church. In her leisure, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life: cooking delicious meals, unwinding with her favorite television programs, and the peaceful solace of sitting on her porch.

Willette was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sam Earl Hunter and Susie Jones, and her two siblings, Ruby Lee Jones and Bennie Will Jones, who welcomed her home.

Her memory will be eternally cherished by her loving children, Shirley (Anthony) Thompson and Tommie Hairston, both of Columbus, MS. She also leaves behind five adored grandchildren, Kenyans Hill, Shannon Hairston, Bennie Christopher (Adrianne) Wells, Anthony Lee Thompson Jr, Shykiria Ionna Thompson and Kaziyah Stallings; three precious great-grandchildren, Nehkiva Jones, Addison Wilson and Christopher Kaiden Wells who will carry her spirit forward. Willette's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
