Obituary

Willie B. Ellis, affectionately known as "Hollywood," was born on August 11, 1951, to Allen and Luella Ellis in Columbus, Mississippi. A man of many passions, Willie had a profound love for reading and spent countless hours at the library, always eager to learn and expand his knowledge. His dedication to personal growth was matched only by his commitment to fitness, as he believed in the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Willie pursued higher education at Mississippi State University and East Mississippi Community College, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors. He became a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating his own tax preparation service, Ellis Tax Association, where he served his community with integrity and expertise.

In his personal life, Willie was a devoted husband to Inez Ellis, with whom he shared 20 wonderful years of marriage. He raised seven children and a bonus father of three, instilling in them the values of hard work, education, and love. Willie was not only a loving father but also a well-dressed gentleman who took pride in his appearance and carried himself with grace.

A lifelong resident of Columbus, MS, Willie B. Ellis touched the lives of many in his community. He passed away peacefully at his residence on May 1, leaving behind a legacy of love, knowledge, and dedication to family and community.

He is preceded in death by his mother; two sons, Andrew Ellis and Samuel Ellis, one daughter, Nadja Ellis, two brothers, Archie Lee King and Henry King; grandson, Demontray Prude.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory to his loving wife, Inez Ellis of Columbus, MS; his children, Heather Ellis, Corshicei Nance, Demarrion Prude-Hudgins, Calvin Ellis,  Kerrod (Rhonda)  Ellis, Bernard Ellis, Morgan Jones and Dymonds Nance all of Columbus, MS; bonus daughter, Archielena Stanford; his siblings, Timothy (Linda) Rush, Larry (Tonya) King, Michael Rush, Allen Ellis, Benny (Pricilla) Willie Ellis and Cedric Ellis; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
