Obituary

Bro. Willie James Hood was born on August 8, 1949, in Noxubee County, MS to Jessie Hood and Mary Lars Hood. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined Christian Love M.B. Church. He later joined and served faithfully with True Worship Holiness under the leadership of his brother, Elder Earl Stewart.

Willie, known as "Nug", moved to Chicago, IL at a young age to begin his adult life. While in Chicago, he learned his passion for carpentry and plumbing. He would go on to build and repair many homes, including renovating his personal home with many add-ons. "Nug" relocated back to Mississippi in the early 1990's to spend time with his family. He continued his passion in carpentry and plumbing employed by J & J Construction for 20 years until retirement.

Willie enjoyed farming and gardening in his spare time. He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsmen as a hobby.

He departed this life on February 11, 2024, at 4:19 P.M. in Macon, MS at his residence. He is preceded in death by: his parents, his siblings: Johnny B. Conner, Willie "Paul" Hood, Bobby D. Stewart, Eula "Susie" Pearl Stewart, and Hattie B. Davis.

Willie's memories will forever be cherished by: his children: Felicia Hood and Lavail Blue; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two special sons: Caleb and Kamara; his siblings: Laddie Greatharee, Helen Pippins, Charlie(Carolina)Hood, Mary Alice(Aubrey) Silvers, Earl(Bobbie)Stewart, Donnie(Sharae)Stewart, Albert(Delphina)Stewart, and Emmit Stewart; his aunt: Sallie(Robert)Taylor; his special friends: Robert"Bo"Hinton, "Shorty" Bonner, and Osie Windham; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
