Cordell "Dell" DeShaun Lewis was born in San
Antonio, Texas, on December 1, 1989, to Barbara Harris Lewis
and Waymon M. Lewis. He confessed his belief in Christ at an
early age. He was a member of House of Life Freedom Ministry.
Cordell played baseball in his early childhood. When he was in
high school, he played on the Columbus High School football
team. He graduated in 2009. He was a well-mannered and
respectful person. His personality was very BIG, along with his
smile. There was never a dull moment when he came around.
Dell always left you with a smile.
He is preceded in death by his loving grandparents, William and
Annie Harris, and Gertrude Lewis; daughter, Aaliyah Lewis; and
aunt, Shirley Jean Grays.
Cordell transitioned into his new life on Thursday, November 23,
2017. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Barbara Harris
Lewis; father, Waymon (Eve) Lewis; grandfather, Maurice Lewis,
all of Columbus, MS; three sons, Tylan Wicks and Jaiden Lewis
of West Point, MS, and Corderius Lewis of Jackson, MS; one
daughter, Anaiyah Hicks of Columbus, MS; girlfriend, Tiffany
Wicks of West Point, MS; three brothers, Marshay "Tory" Harris
of Columbus, MS, Carlton (NaTasha) Lewis of Tupelo, MS, and
Quincy Lewis of Jackson, MS; three sisters, Kimbley (Bradley)
Davis of Columbus, MS, Trena (Allen) Pegues of Tupelo, MS,
and Regina Lewis of Memphis, TN; and a host of special nieces
and nephews, special uncles and aunts, special cousins, and
countless friends.
