Alcurtis Lang, affectionately known to many as "Krunch," peacefully departed this life on February 13, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT in Columbus, MS, at the age of 62.
Born on June 13, 1963, in Columbus, MS, Alcurtis was the beloved son of Felix Harris and Willie Mae Lang. From an early age, Alcurtis embraced his faith, confessing Christ at Piney Grove M.B. Church, a spiritual foundation that guided him throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Lee High School, Alcurtis demonstrated a deep sense of duty and patriotism by enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country as a veteran. His commitment to service extended beyond the military, finding a new expression in his lifelong passion for automobiles.
Alcurtis possessed an exceptional love for cars, a passion that blossomed into a distinguished career as a highly skilled mechanic. Known for his keen eye and meticulous hands, he applied his talents at respected establishments such as Carl Hogan Automotive, James Fryerson Auto, and many other various shops. He was the go-to person for countless individuals, revered for his ability to diagnose and repair any vehicle, a true testament to his dedication and expertise in his craft. His work was not just a job; it was a calling, and he took immense pride in keeping engines running smoothly.
Alcurtis is preceded in death by his parents, two sister, Gloria Lang and Louisa Smith, and one brother, Rev. Mack Lang.
Alcurtis leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Daisy Lang; his children, Latashia (Tony) Cole and LaMorris Lang; his siblings, Eddie Will Martin, Maurice (Vanetta) Cunningham, Porter Gean (Jean) Harris, Freddie B. Harris, Zettie (Ricky) Martin, Bobbie (Tommie) Smith, Marilyn McKinney, DeLakes Lang, Bessie Dale Prowell, Brenda Johnson, Dorothy Washington, Amanda Cunningham, Stanley Lang, Lorenzo Lang, Rev. William Harris and Albert (Wanda) Harris; 10 grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
