Ammie Wells Boykin was born October 7, 1943, in Bigbee Valley, MS to the late Van and Mary Heaven Wells.

She acknowledged Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age joining Christian Hill M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Charlie Clay Conner. Ammie later relocated to New York, and after coming back to Mississippi she continued her membership at Christian Hill M.B. Church, under the leadership of Reverend Bobby Bowen, where she remained a faithful member.

In 1980, Ammie joined holy matrimony with James Boykin, until 1991 when he passed away. There were no children from this union. In addition to this union Ammie had one daughter, who he helped raise as his own.

The Calling:
Ammie made her transition into Heaven on Friday December 8, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, two sisters, Ida Mae Darling and Stella Mae Jones and, three brothers, JB Wells, UW Wells, and RL Wells.

The Beloved Memories:
To cherish her memories Ammie leaves: one daughter, Lisa Wells Buckhalter of Brooksville, MS, one granddaughter, Stacey Oliver of Columbus, MS; three grandchildren, Demarkyan Oliver, San Antonio, TX, Tyron Curry II of Columbus, MS and Christian Johnson of Columbus, MS; one sister, Lue (Johnny) Young both of Brooksville, MS; one brother, James Earl Wells of Naranja, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ammie was feisty, always full of life, and was definitely going to make you laugh. She loved spending time with family and her daughter and grandkids were her ray of sunshine. Ammie never met a stranger, and she left a lifelong impression with anyone she met. She was everyone's Nana and will truly be missed.
