Anderson Tate, Jr. was born May 30, 1960 in Bigbee Valley, MS to Anderson Tate, Sr. and Anna Washington Tate. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Canaan M.B Church.
Anderson affectionally known as "Big And" graduated from Caldwell High School in Columbus, MS in 1978. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1979 and retired in 1999. He was also a veteran of Desert Storm. Anderson worked for ISS Mall Services and Bryan Foods for many years. He enjoyed life and loved fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rufus Lee Tate.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Shirley Witherspoon Tate; children, Quincy (Danielle) Lavender, Deandre Johnson, Anderson Tate III, and Natalie Tate all of Columbus, MS; two sisters, Margaret (Terry) Hill of Conyers, GA, Shirley (Hilbert) Williams of Columbus, MS; two brothers, Johnny (Catherine) Washington of Chicago, IL, Frederick (Jackie) Tate of Columbus, MS, 10 grandchildren; two very special friends, Veola Gibbs and Vantee Summerville. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
