Ms. Annie Liza Johnson was born to Irene Ellis Jones and Walter (Kalabay) Johnson, raised by Mary Smith Clark and Johnny Brown Clark. She was united in holy matrimony to Fonzell Andrews Sr. but later married Oscar Allen. She worked many jobs, including waitressing, manufacturing, Nursing home dietary cook, caregiver, and sitter, before retiring as a caregiver. Annie Liza Allen passed away peacefully the morning of March 31, 2025 at her home.
She served as a member of the usher board and choir for many years, until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Maxine Andrews; three brothers, Robert Smith, Sr., Roosevelt Johnson, Walter Johnson, Jr.; two sisters, Rosemary Buchanan, and Bessie Annie Johnson; two grandchildren, NaKiren Ratcliff and Diamond Wallace.
She leaves to cherish her memories and honor her legacy: four daughters, Brenda Carter of Richmond, VA, Debra Andrews of Starkville, MS, Gloria Andrews of Macon, MS, Lena Ratcliff of Starkville MS; two sons, Leonard Andrews, Sr. and Fonzelle Andrews, Jr.; two special grandchildren who she reared, Marvin Andrews, Sr. and Leonard Andrews, Jr.; 18 grandchildren; and a host of great-grand children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; two very special friends, Mr. James Ivy and Fannie B. Stewart.
