Obituary

Annie Lanier Frierson was born March 27, 1944 to the late Joe Roy Lanier and Lula Lanier in Columbus, Mississippi.

They had three children Annie, Johnny B, and Joanna. She graduated from R.E. Hunt High School in 1961. Annie confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member at Canaan Baptist Church until her health began to fail. Annie was employed by Coleman (ICS) Head Start for 34 years as the Director. She was also a cook for Brandon Middle School for several years and the owner of Variety Savers store in the Sandfield community.

Annie married Alphonso Frierson on February 1962 at Canaan Baptist Church, Columbus, Mississippi.


To that union, six children were born: David (Kay) Frierson, Ronnie Frierson (preceded in death), Michael (Margaret) Frierson, Stanley Frierson, Stephanie Frierson-Ratliff, Catina (Steven) Frierson-Cummings; one stepson Arthur Wiggins; 16 Grandchildren, Steven Frierson, Alicia Frierson, Christopher Gandy, Jessica Jackson, Jasmine Duncan, Mika Frierson, Kentrell Frierson, Anthony Frierson, Quinton Frierson, Madison Frierson, Kayla Frierson, Brandon Ratliff, Kylie Cummings, and Kameron Cummings. Andre Wiggins and Charmaine Wiggins; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joanna Lanier.  She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Annie Louise Lanier Frierson transitioned from this earthly tabernacle to her heavenly reward on September 17, 2022.
