Obituary

Antais DeGranfferied, Sr. entered this world on December 8, 1983 in Chicago, Il to his parents Sophfornia Lockett and Dennis Degraffenreid. He began his early education in Chicago until relocating with his family to Oklahoma City, OK. After a few years in OKC he relocated to Macon, MS where he would later graduate from Noxubee High School with the class of 2003. After high School, he relocated back to Oklahoma City, OK. While in Oklahoma, he enrolled in a local college for massage therapy and graduated with honors. His journey continued back to Mississippi furthering his education at Hinds Community College earning his degree and CDL.

Antais began his Commercial Driving career in 2016 as a school bus driver and later with KLLM Trucking out of Jackson, MS in 2019. He was employed with Marten Trucking until he was called home. He enjoyed traveling abroad through 49 states known as "Mr. D".

Antais was a man full of humor. He enjoyed personal time with family and friends whether it was in person or over the phone. He enjoyed joking with his kids, listening to music, cars, and guns. His favorite sports teams were the Chicago Bears and Alabama Crimson Tide.

Antais departed this life November 1, 2025 in Columbus, MS. He is preceded in death by: his grandparents: Viola, Henry Lockett, Minnie Gooley, and Dennis Degraffenreid, Sr. his uncles: Terry Lockett, Tommy Lee Bassett; and his bonus parent, Flozell "Sunny" Lockett.

Antais's memories will forever be cherished by: his mother, Sophfornia Lockett of Columbus, MS and Dennis Degraffenried of Columbus, MS; his children, Antais DeGraffenreid, Jr. of Columbus, MS, Landon Bivens of Oklahoma City, OK, and Emmanuel DeGraffenreid of Columbus, MS; his siblings, Sheronda Jenkins of Oklahoma City, OK, Undrae Chevelle Riley of Starkville, MS; bonus sisters, Latoya Lockett of Columbus, MS and Kala Lockett of Atlanta, GA; his nieces and nephews, DeAndre Jenkins and Quiara Jenkins; a host of beloved aunts, Elvira Bassett, Annie P. DeGraffenreid, Ada Price, and Dondretta Strong all  of Chicago, IL, Gloria Richards of Memphis, TN, Debra Coleman, Patricia Bassett, both of Columbus, MS, Callie Gill of West Point, MS; beloved uncles, Isaac Bassett of Chicago, IL, James Bassett of Memphis, TN, Leon Lockett of Aliceville, AL, Patrick Lockett of Aberdeen, MS; Lou Henry Lockett and Purvis Lockett of North Carolina; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
