Obituary

Bennie C. Bush, Sr. was born in Cliftonville, MS on October 12, 1948, to Eligha, Sr. and Hattie Pearl Bush. He lived in the Noxubee County, MS and attended Mt. Zion M.B. Church. Bennie was employed with Pepsicola plant in Columbus, MS and later with Weyerhaeuser as a truck driver until retirement.

Bennie C., known as "Wheat", was a very nice man who never met a stranger. He greeted with a smile and a pleasant conversation. He loved fishing, eating, and traveling to casino. His most favorite travel time was faithfully traveling to see all his kids every week.

Bennie C. departed this life on September 11, 2022, in Jackson, MS. He preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, L.M. Bush; sister-in-law, Christine; and step-son, Lester Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Ruthie Mae Bush of Columbus, MS; his 7 children: Willie Mae Bush, Bennie Bush, Jr., Cynthia Bush, Dawanda Bush, Rosalyn M. Bush, and Timothy D. Bush all of Columbus, MS, and Angela Bush of Tuscaloosa, AL; his special friend, Eva Smith of Macon, MS; his step-children, Linda (Henry) Gilkey and Jerry (Yolanda) Smith both of Macon, MS, and Charles Smith and Willie (Cheryl) Smith both of Atlanta, GA; his siblings, Doris (Master) Thomas, Lee (Willie) Jones, and Vera (Wayne) Jordan all of Topeka, KS, Bernice (Kenny) Thomas, Glennie (David) Epps, and Eligha Bush, Jr, all of Columbus, MS, Albert (Lucy) Bush and Johnnie (Pearline) Bush both of Brooksville, MS and Jimmie (Creola) Bush of Evans, GA; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
