Betty L. Weatherspoon Eddins was born in Columbus, MS on May 6, 1936 to Chandler Weatherspoon and Betty Abrams Weatherspoon.
Betty, after a life well-lived passed away on March 12, 2025 at her residence surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L.A. Eddins, Sr.; her daughter, Mary W. Coley; sons, L.A. Eddins, Jr. and Terry Lash; brothers, Tommie T. Weatherspoon, Clarence Weatherspoon, and Johnny B. Weatherspoon, Nathaniel Weatherspoon, Wayne Weatherspoon; sisters, Carrie L. Cannon, Helen Burney, Jenny Johnson, Martha Washington, Carrie L. Conner and Carrie Summerville; sister-in-law, Easter Mae Weatherspoon; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Weatherspoon; and grandson, Javontae Ricky Ball.
Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Piney Grove M.B. Church. She was educated in the Piney Grove Schools in her earlier years. Betty was a Domestic Housekeeper, raising three wonderful children: Doris Taylor, Danny Taylor, and Juliana Taylor.
Betty loved her family; giving and caring for other people with a contagious smile. She also enjoyed fishing.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Johnnie Witherspoon of Spokane, WA, David Weatherspoon of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Nathaniel Weatherspoon of Columbus, MS; one daughter, Wanda Weatherspoon of Columbus, MS; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Mariah Brown of Columbus, MS and Ruthie Moore of Akron, OH; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
