Sister Clara Harris was born March 23, 1955, in Noxubee County to Annie Pearl Baity and John Baity. She made her transition peacefully on April 3, 2024 at 8:46 A.M. at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT in Columbus, MS.

She accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Mt. Pisgah M.B. Church in Tibbee. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Rufus Harris.

Clara was Educated in the City School District and graduated from Hunt High School in Columbus, MS. She worked side by side with her husband. They were both self-employed. She loved cooking, yard work, being around her grandkids and family. She will forever be remembered for her lively personality and her love for her family and all those she encountered.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Annie Pearl Baity and John Baity, brothers, Willie C. Baity, Jimmy C. Baity, Eddie Lee Baity, and Charles Baity as well as her oldest son Anthony Benard Baity, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories to her daughter, Tameka Harris; her son, Marchello Harris both of Columbus, MS, four sisters, Queen Easter (Nathaniel) Johnson of St. Louis, MO. Bobbie Jean (Albert) Peoples, Pearlean Baity and Dororthy Baity all of Columbus, MS, one brother, John Baity of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren, Courtney Harris, Anthony Harris, Carla Keaton, Jaylynn Harris, Abria Harris, Marchello Harris, Jr., Bryson Harris, A'Kayla Harris and Madison Henderson. Two great-grandsons, Karson Harris and Dallas Keaton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
