Daisy Elizabeth Williams Kidd passed away on August 12, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 10, 1932, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Albert and Elizabeth Williams. Daisy was a remarkable woman. Her life was defined by her unwavering faith, dedication to her family, and commitment to her community.
Daisy confessed her faith in Christ at Military Chapel United Methodist Church, where her spiritual journey began. She later joined Anderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she became a cherished member of the congregation. Her deep faith was reflected in her active participation as a choir member and as the president of the usher board, roles she embraced with joy and devotion.
For twenty years, Daisy worked as a cafeteria worker at Caledonia High School, where she nourished the bodies and spirits of countless students. After her retirement, she devoted herself to caring for her family and the community she loved so dearly. Known for her generosity, Daisy often opened her home to those in need, providing meals and support to her neighbors and friends. Her kindness and compassion made her a beloved figure in the Caledonia community.
As the eldest member of her church, Daisy was a source of wisdom and inspiration to many. Her warm smile, kind words, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she served.
Daisy is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Kidd, Sr.; her parents, two sons: Ronnie James Kidd and Jimmie Kidd, Jr.; one grandson, Gregory Bradley, her siblings, Emma Ussery, Alice Lawrence, Bobby Joe Williams, Willie B. Williams, James A. Williams, Cal Fernandis, Emmitt Williams and Mary Tripp.
The life and legacy of Mrs. Daisy Elizabeth Kidd will be cherished by her children, Johnnie (Dan) Ranch, Lynn (A.J.) Wyatt and Twindrika (Jerry) Fields; her sister, Jerlene Sims; one sister-in-law, Frances Williams: her grandchildren, Lamar (Michelle) Bradley, Darrell (Kessler) Bradley, Gavin Coleman, Daphne Calmes, and Ladarius Davis; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Bradley, Darion Bradley, Dion Bradley, Akiya Bradley, Collin Bradley, Khalani Coleman, Eric Thomas, Khyson Hamilton, Kheden Hamilton, Bella Calmes, her great-great- grandchild, Chayse Fields; bonus grandchildren and great-grand children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
